Jo at no 40 has been established in the Rutland area since 2015. Building on 30 years of upholstering and crafting I, Jo Sutton, set up Jo at no 40 on High Street East in Uppingham to teach the wonderful traditional craft of upholstery. To share the skill of upholstery and watch as the magic of upholstery gets caught by others as they transform their chairs. Soon to add in sewing classes for my lovely students too.

I teach here up to 6 students at a time, so that you all get plenty of my time, also meet others and learn about the different chairs, styles, and approaches. Each day is 9.30-4.00, we stop for coffee and cake mid morning and break for lunch for you to explore this beautiful historic market town of Uppingham.

My workshops also take place in other venues currently in Seaton Village Hall, an opportunity for larger pieces and run week or weekends here for those wanting more time and space. In Bushby the weekly class is here for those wanting a half a day on each Thursday in term time running 9.30-12.30.
